WHAT WE DO
We are a boutique vineyard located in historic Maldon, Central Victoria.
Operating since 2012, we hand-tend our two acres of shiraz vines to create amazing wines!
But, it's time for our journey to come to an end... we're leaving Maldon and closing Heybridge Estate. Thanks for following along!

Wine Clearance
25 January 2025: We've decided to move and close up Heybridge Estate. So, it's wine clearance time - all stock must go.
February we had sale days at the cellar door. Now all that's left is the cellared stock release!
Winery Make-over
16 November 2024: The winery has had quite the make-over and is looking spendid for welcoming our visitors and making wine.
Winery and Tasting Room
22 October 2021: Finally the winery is set up to welcome you to come and try our wines... get in touch if you want to come and try one of our great shirazes, and take some home with you too!
Dry Vintage 2019
16 March 2019: Following a dry summer, we picked a small harvest of great fruit, which is now off to be crushed and fermented.
Frosts... and Recovery
25 November 2017: We got hit hard by a black frost on the night of 4 November 2017. But, the vines are making a steady recovery and it looks like there is some fruit coming. We just hope it will ripen for 2018 vintage.
Winter Dormancy
2 July 2017: Following an excellent harvest of almost 8 tonnes of grapes in March 2017, the vineyard has now dropped all the leaves and moved into winter mode. The frosts are here and we start to think about pruning in readiness for a new spring. At least we get to enjoy some wonderful mornings, and Heybridge shiraz by the fire at night!
Grape Crush
19 March 2017: The picked grapes go through the crusher-destemmer and into the fermentation tanks. A pretty quick way to do the crush, and definitely easier than using your feet!
Picking Begins
19 March 2017 - With grapes looking great, picking started today. We picked 800 kilograms off the small block and crushed on-site for the first time. A group of five families are involved in making some wine co-op style. We've now got a roster to plunge the must three times a day as it ferments.
Launch Day
10 December 2016: Launch day is here. We celebrated with a number of our regular helpers and supporters. Everyone enjoyed both the 2013 and 2014 shiraz vintages and a range of excellent cheeses. Thank you to those of you who were able to make it along.
Sign Goes Up
10 December 2016: Just in time for our launch, the front sign has gone up on a temporary frame. We have plans for putting it on some posts, but for now it gives people passing by all the info they need.
Spring Growth
16 November 2016: Following glorious early-spring rains, our dams are full, the soil is moist and the vines are flowering. We're in for a busy couple of months mowing between the vines, spraying minimal organic sulphur and keeping the vines under control. We're looking forward to a great summer of growing to produce a superb harvest in 2017.
